Join our team as Director of Accounting & Tax (m/w/d) at our headquarters in Idstein,starting as soon as possible!
The story begins
Accounting:
- Lead the Group Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams (approximately 20 employees, including 3 team leaders).
- Ensure the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with HGB and US-GAAP, while adhering to agreed-upon schedules and quality standards.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of preliminary VAT returns and final annual VAT declarations.
- Manage and coordinate cash flow and liquidity planning for the group.
- Supervise effective accounts receivable management and customer credit assessments.
- Develop, maintain, and improve all closing procedures and related activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits and provide support for internal and external reporting requirements.
- Overall responsibility for group-wide tax reporting according to US GAAP, in close collaboration with the Finance department and the US corporate tax department.
- Strategically monitor and further develop the transfer pricing policies, coordinating with international subsidiaries.
- Contribute to the timely preparation and review of sales and income tax returns for the German and European entities with external consultants.
- Ensure timely VAT returns for German entities and oversee VAT returns for European subsidiaries in close cooperation with the Finance department.
- Address complex tax issues in day-to-day business and develop long-term tax strategies and solutions.
- Lead and coordinate national and international tax audits.
- Serve as the primary contact for the corporate tax department (USA), external auditors, tax authorities, and tax advisors both in Germany and abroad.
Your proven path
- Extensive experience in managing teams and having overall responsibility for accounting and tax functions within an internationally operating company.
- A completed degree in business administration, finance, or tax law; CPA or tax advisor qualification is a plus.
- At least 10 years of experience in a leadership role within accounting and/or tax consulting, preferably in an international corporate environment or an audit firm.
- Solid knowledge of national (HGB) and international (US-GAAP) accounting standards and experience with consolidation tools such as SAP.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand, analyze, and challenge processes while ensuring compliance with established procedures and timelines.
- Expertise in developing and implementing policies and processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP FI/CO, and business intelligence solutions.
- High resilience and perseverance to drive continuous improvements in tax and finance processes.
